Jewell County Strong Recognizes Dane G. Hansen Foundation for $20,000 Aquatic Therapy

Jewell County Strong Inc. is proud to recognize the Dane G. Hansen Foundation as a valued funding partner in bringing the HydroWorx RISE Aquatic Therapy System to the Jewell County Strong Community Wellness Center in Mankato, Kansas.

Thanks in part to a generous $20,000 grant from the Dane G. Hansen Foundation, along with

contributions from local donors and the dedication of community volunteers, Jewell County Strong has added an innovative wellness resource that will benefit residents of Jewell County and surrounding rural communities for years to come.

Bringing Specialized Wellness Opportunities to Rural Kansas

The HydroWorx RISE features an underwater treadmill, adjustable water depth, and water resistance capabilities that allow individuals to exercise in a supportive, low-impact environment. This equipment is particularly valuable for older adults, individuals experiencing mobility limitations, and those seeking to improve strength, balance, and overall physical fitness.

Already Making a Difference!

Members are sharing encouraging experiences since beginning aquatic workouts, including better sleep, increased energy, and improvements in walking ability. Wellness Center staff have also observed noticeable improvements in the mobility of several participants. These early results are especially meaningful in a rural community where access to specialized wellness resources often requires traveling considerable distances.

A Community Effort Worth Celebrating

Volunteers helped coordinate equipment ordering and delivery, took on the remarkable challenge of moving the extremely heavy equipment into place, and completed the final remodeling touches to create a welcoming aquatic therapy room. Their commitment reflects the spirit of cooperation that makes Jewell County such a special place.
